Affected Vehicles

Condition

The warning tones for the rear parking aid are too quiet, even at the highest volume setting.

Technical Background

Due to potentially high ambient noise levels in the A4 Cabriolet, it may be difficult for the driver to hear the parking aid tones.

Production Solution

Rear parking aid speaker location changed.

Service

Check the adjustment settings of the parking aid control unit J446 (address word 76). The volume level and pitch of the warning tone can be adjusted
using Adaptation Channels 1 and 2, respectively. Select Guided Functions >> 76 - Parking Assistance, rear >> J446-Parking Aid Ctrl.Mo., buzzer
adaptation.

Tip: By increasing the volume level and adjusting the pitch of the warning tone, it is often possible to create an audible tone for the customer.

Repositioning the rear parking aid speaker

If it is not possible to create a sufficiently audible tone for the customer, the parking aid speaker H15 can be repositioned to the right rear radio speaker
using the procedure below.

1. Remove the following components: rear head restraints and seats; right rear side trim; ski sack.
