Removing
CAUTION!
Observe safety precautions for working on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Service

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the driver storage compartment and knee airbag. Refer to => [ Driver Side Storage Compartment with Knee Bolster or Knee Airbag
Assembly Overview ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Utility Storage Compartment/Service and Repair/Storage Compartments and
Covers.
‹› The knee airbag is located in the knee bolster.
CAUTION!
Before handling airbag units (e.g. when disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can
be done by touching door striker, for example.

Remove the bolts - 1 -.

Release the clips - 2 - and remove the airbag unit - 4 - from the driver storage compartment.

Place airbag unit so padding faces upward.
Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

After an airbag has deployed, replace the storage compartment (knee bolster) and the left and right support. Refer to => [ Driver Side Storage
