Transmission Cooler: Procedures
09LA Transmission
ATF Cooling Lines and Cooler, Cleaning
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Compressed air gun, commercially available
‹› Hose dia. approximately 18 mm
‹› Oil receptacle
‹› Before installing a replacement transmission, clean ATF cooling lines and cooler.
‹› Rules of cleanliness for working on automatic transmissions. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Service Precautions/Clean Working
Conditions.
‹› Thoroughly clean all connections and the surrounding area before disconnecting.
Procedure

Place an oil collection container underneath.

Remove bolt - 2 -.

Place a hose approximately 18 mm dia. on ATF line - A - and secure with hose clamp. Hang the other end of the hose in the oil collection
container.
CAUTION!
Wear protective glasses.

Blow through ATF line - B - with a compressed air gun (with max. 10 bar).

Change hose from ATF line - A - to ATF line - B - and repeat procedure.

Insert ATF cooling lines by hand completely into transmission or cooler as far as stop and then tighten => [ ATF Cooling Lines Assembly
