Shift Interlock Cable: Service and Repair
Tiptronic Selector Mechanism
Lock Cable, Removing and Installing
CAUTION!
Before disconnecting the battery, determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.
Removing
-
Move selector lever to "2" position.

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

Remove selector lever handle.

Remove front part of center console.

Remove driver's side storage shelf under steering wheel.

Remove steering column switches.
-
Turn ignition key to "ignition on" position.
-
Move selector lever to position "P".
-
Lift locking clip on locking device -1- and pull lock cable out of ignition/starter switch.

Remove cover with guide (selector lever mechanism).
-
Unclip lock cable from securing spring on mounting bracket; to do so, lift securing spring slightly.
-
Release lock cable from cable tie -2-, and remove.
