Compressor Pulley: Service and Repair

NOTE:

Various pulley designs are installed depending on type of compressor and engine

Belt pulley, removing from compressor and reinstalling
1. Securing ring

Remove carefully using small screwdriver or pointed-nose pliers (paying particular attention to pulley)
2. Drive plate

Bolted to compressor drive shaft

Different versions
-
With overload safeguard, triggered in the event of excessive torque (e.g. stiff compressor) and pulley just free-wheels without driving
compressor

Tightening torque 35 Nm
3. Securing ring

Replace

Ensure correct positioning (flat side facing compressor)
4. Spacing disc

Dimensions: 17.5 x 10 x 3 mm
5. Rubber element

6x, ensure correct installation

Decouples pulley from compressor drive shaft, damps vibration and sound

When installing, moisten rubber elements slightly with mounting paste or soap solution for example to provide lubrication
