Headrest Guide

Removing

CAUTION!
‹› Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components Safety Precautions ] See:

Restraint Systems/Service Precautions.

‹› Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge

static electricity". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Switch the ignition on.

-

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove front seat:

‹› Standard and Sport Manual Seat. Refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seats ].

Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair ( VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seat, Installing on VAS 6136 ] See: Service and Repair/Removal
and Replacement/Seat Versions Overview.

Remove backrest panel:

‹› Two section backrest cover. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover, Version 1 ]. See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Manual Standard Front Seats/Backrest

Cover, Version 1 

‹› One section backrest cover. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover, Version 2 ]. See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Manual Standard Front Seats/Backrest

Cover, Version 2

Remove the headrests. Refer to => [ Headrests with Locking Mechanism ]. See: Headrests With Locking Mechanism

Remove cover with upholstery. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover and Upholstery ] See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Front Seat Covers and
Upholstery.

Headrest guide without release button:

-

Press the retaining tabs - arrows - on the headrest guide - 1 - toward the center of the headrest guide.

-

Hold the retaining tabs down.

Pull the headrest guide up out of the backrest frame - 2  -.
