Note

There are different versions of the remote control receiver for auxiliary heater -R64- and the remote control hand transmitter. Pay attention to the correct version and assignment → Electronic parts catalogue as well as correct encoding of the auxiliary heater control unit -J364- (as of control unit part number 4xx xxx xxx) → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051/, “Guided fault-finding function”.

t	The following illustration shows the positions of the components on an Audi A5 Coupé. The layout differs slightly on the Audi A4 and Audi Q5. The components are however to be removed and installed in the same manner as described for the Audi A5 Coupé.

t	The remote control receiver for auxiliary heater -R64--arrow- is installed in the luggage compartment on the right in the direction of travel beneath the side trim → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.91.

t	The auxiliary heating radio controlled receiver -R64- is inserted in a mount.

t	The feedback from the auxiliary heating radio controlled receiver -R64- is supplied by the supplementary heater control unit -J364- to the remote control hand transmitter.

t	The remote control can be deactivated by the supplementary heater control unit -J364- (thus reducing no-load current input).

t	In the rest condition, the current input of the remote control receiver for auxiliary heater -R64- is less than 1 mA. The current input increases as soon as a transmission signal is received.

t	Adaption of the remote control is performed in the auxiliary heating radio controlled receiver -R64-. If this is replaced, all remote control units must be consecutively re-matched → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information systemVAS 5051/, “Guided fault-finding function” and → Chapter.
