Calculating ratio „i“

Example:

i = Z₂ : Z₁ (Z₁ = number of teeth on drive gear, Z₂ = number of teeth on driven gear)

i_G = gear ratio = ZG₂: ZG₁ = 37 : 60 = 0.617

i_A = axle ratio = ZA₂ : ZA₁ = 33 : 8 = 4.125

i_S = spur gear ratio = ZS₂ : ZS₁ = 35 : 31 = 1.129

i_ov = overall ratio = i_G x i_A x i_S = 0.617 x 4.125 x 1.129 = 2.873
