Renewing oil seal for selector shaft Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Removal lever -80 - 200-

t  Thrust piece -T10135-

Removing –  Use removal lever -80 - 200- to pry ball socket -1- on selector lever cable off selector shaft lever.   Note Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

–  Drive out roll pin -1- at selector shaft lever -2--arrow- until it is possible to detach selector shaft lever from selector shaft.

Caution Risk of damage to running surface of selector shaft. Apply screwdriver with care. –  Push a small screwdriver through the oil seal and pull it out. Installing Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following: –  Lubricate outer circumference and space between sealing lips of new oil seal with ATF. l  Installation position: open side of oil seal points towards gearbox –  Fit oil seal onto selector shaft.

–  Press on oil seal using thrust piece -T10135- and removal lever -A- as far as the stop; make sure that oil seal remains straight. –  Before installing, drive the roll pin in the selector shaft lever back through the lever in the opposite direction. –  Push selector shaft lever onto selector shaft and drive in roll pin. –  Check ATF level → Chapter.
