Removing and installing oil pump and suction-jet pump Special tools and workshop equipment required t  Counterhold tool -T40217- t  Bit -T40228- t  For sealant, refer to → Electronic parts catalogue

Removing l  Gearbox is secured to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095- → Chapter. –  Remove flywheel → Chapter. –  Remove dual clutch → Chapter. –  Remove mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743- → Chapter.

–  Wrap adhesive tape -arrow- around outer input shaft to protect oil seal for input shaft. –  After attaching adhesive tape, lubricate tape lightly with grease.

–  Remove bolts -arrows- and slide oil pump forwards on input shaft.

–  At rear side of oil pump -1-, remove bolts -arrows- for suction-jet pump -2-.   Note For better clarity, oil pump is removed in illustration. –  Pull oil pump and suction-jet pump separately off input shaft.

Installing l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Exploded view - dismantling and assembling gearbox“   Note t  Renew bolts which are tightened by turning through a specified angle. t  Renew O-rings. –  Wrap adhesive tape -arrow- around outer input shaft to protect oil seal for input shaft. –  After attaching adhesive tape, lubricate tape lightly with grease.

–  Push O-ring -2- onto seal seat on suction-jet pump -1-. –  Check for damage on sealing surface inside large opening on suction-jet pump; renew suction-jet pump if necessary. –  Check that small O-ring is correctly seated on bottom of suction-jet pump (not shown in illustration).

–  Slide suction-jet pump -2- and oil pump -1- separately onto input shaft.   Note For better clarity, oil pump is removed in illustration. –  Fit suction-jet pump onto oil pump and tighten bolts -arrows-.

–  Secure oil pump -arrows-. Perform remaining installation steps in reverse sequence of removal. –  Install mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743- → Chapter. –  Install dual clutch → Chapter. –  Install flywheel → Chapter.
