Removing and installing pump for exhaust gas recirculation coolerV400
Removing and installing pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler -V400-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hose clamps for hoses up to 25 mm -3094-
  W00-0079
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6362-
  W00-10427
Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.
  A10-11353
–  Release hose clips -arrows- and remove air hose.
  A21-10302
–  Unplug electrical connector -4-.
  WARNING
Hot steam/hot coolant can escape - risk of scalding.
t  The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is hot.
t  Cover filler cap on coolant expansion tank with a cloth and open carefully to dissipate pressure.
–  Remove nuts -2- and pull pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler -V400- off engine.
–  Clamp off coolant hoses using hose clamps -3094-, release hose clips -1- and disconnect coolant hoses.
–  Remove bolts -3- and detach pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler from bracket.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler -V400- - exploded view“
–  Install air hoses with screw-type clips → Fig..
–  Check coolant level → Anchor.
