t  Hose clamps for hoses up to 25 mm -3094-
  W00-0079
t  Used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782-
  W00-10211
t  Hose clip pliers -VAS 6362-

Removing
–  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
  A27-10143
–  Remove bolts -arrows- and detach bracket for alternator.
  A17-10151
–  Clamp off coolant hoses with hose clamps -3094- as shown in illustration.
  Note
Place a cloth underneath to catch escaping coolant.
–  Disconnect coolant hoses -1- and -2- from engine oil cooler.
–  Position used oil collection and extraction unit -V.A.G 1782- below engine.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and detach engine oil cooler.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torques → Fig. „„Engine oil cooler - tightening torque and sequence““
  Note
t  Renew O-rings.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct type of hose clips (same as original equipment) → Electronic parts catalogue.
–  Install bracket for alternator → Chapter.
–  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Check oil level → Booklet811.
–  Check coolant level → Anchor.
