About the A6
The A6 is Audi's executive car, made since 1994 in Neckarsulm as the successor to the Audi 100, whose C-series numbering it continues. Every generation has been offered with front-wheel drive or quattro four-wheel drive, as a saloon or an estate (Avant), and the A6 has been the basis of the Allroad models since 1999.
What these manuals cover
- 1995 (C4): the 2.8-litre V6.
- 1998–2004 (C5): the 2.8 and 3.0-litre V6s, the 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 and the 4.2-litre V8.
- 2005–2011 (C6): the 3.2-litre V6, the 4.2 V8 and the supercharged 3.0 V6.
Tip: the letters in brackets are Audi's engine code (such as AEB or BKH). The same engines are used across the Volkswagen Group, so a VW manual with the same code covers the same engine.
