Speedometer Gear, A/T: Service and Repair
Sensor
-
Disconnect harness connector from speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).

Press sensor retaining bar down.

Turn VSS to the side and remove.
NOTE:

Shown with transmission removed to simplify illustration.

Install new O-ring on VSS.
^
Install VSS with multi-purpose grease.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION: Insert VSS carefully, as the vehicle speed indication will be inaccurate if the sensor is damaged.
