91 No audio output due to active component protection

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 09-08 dated July 31, 2009 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

CONDITION

^ No audio output for approximately one minute due to active component protection in the 47 - sound system module and in the 07 - display/control unit

(head unit) active.

^ A message to visit your Audi dealer may be displayed on the MMI screen during this timespan.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

In case of a low voltage incident (e.g. during engine start), the component protection of the audio amplifier and in the head unit may be active for
approximately one minute. After the minute has passed, the system operates without problems again.

This symptom only occurs if the component protection was deactivated in an incorrect sequence in the past.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Deactivation of the component protection in a different sequence.

SERVICE

Deactivate the component protection via VAS scan tool. 

Needlessly replaced parts will be debited.
