Front Subframe Mount: Service and Repair

Subframe Bonded Rubber Bushing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Thrust plate (VW 401)

‹› Thrust plate (VW 402)

‹› Punch (VW 412)

‹› Press piece (3416/1)

‹› Shop press (V.A.G 1290 A)

‹› Assembly tool (T10205)

‹› Assembly tool (T10301)

Remove subframe. Refer to => [ Subframe ] See: Front Subframe/Service and Repair. 

‹› Pressing bearings out and in is performed using shop press (V.A.G 1290 A).

‹› For pressing bearings out and in, a second technician is required to hold the subframe.

Pressing out front bearing (aluminum)

Install tools at front bearing (aluminum) as shown in illustration. 

1. Punch (VW 412)

2. Front bearing (aluminum)

3. Subframe

4. Sleeve (T10205/5)
