Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair
Undamaged Side Window, Removing

Undamaged Side Window, Removing

-

Remove C-/D-pillar trim.

-

Apply adhesive tape - 2 - to protect against paint damage on top of roof trim - 1 - on D-pillar and below trim - 3 - on side panel.

-

On vehicles with gloss package, remove lower trim - 1 -.

-

Insert cutting cord around the side window as depicted in the illustration.

-

Pull cord above and below B-pillar through adhesive sealing material into vehicle interior.

-

Secure ends X and Y in two pull grips from special tool V.A.G 1351.

-

Pull cutting cord in direction of - arrow A - using light sawing motions and cut through lower adhesive sealing material at side panel and at roof
frame.

-

Then pull cutting cord through in direction of - arrow B - downward through adhesive sealing material.

-

Remove window from window opening.
