Air Bag Deactivation Indicator: Service and Repair

Front Passengers Airbag Disabled Indicator Lamp K145, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim removal wedge 3409

-

Hook 3438

-

Position the steering wheel so that it is as far rearward and down as possible, using the full adjustment range of the steering column adjuster.

-

Remove trim molding on center vent panel - 1 - at left in - direction of arrow -. Use Trim Removal Wedge 3409 to unclip if necessary.

-

Position center vent panel fins - 1 - horizontally.

-

Using a small screwdriver - 3 - and - 4 - (standard), release metal clips - 2 - in - direction of arrow -.

NOTE:  The center vent panel has a hole on both sides for attaching the hook 3438.

Pull center vent panel - 1 - out of installation opening on instrument panel on both sides with Hook 3438, screwdrivers - 3 - and - 4 - must remain
inserted.
