Air Spring

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

‹› Insert tool 10 (V.A.G 1783/1)

‹› Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 B) with corresponding diagnostic cable.

‹› Spring tensioning system (VAS 6274/8) from spreader device (VAS 6274)

Removing

-

Place vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures/Positioning Vehicle on
Hoist and Wheels.

Perform system vent using (VAS 5051 A). Refer to => [ System, Venting or Filling ] See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General
Diagnostics/System, Venting or Filling.

Remove wheel.

-

Insert spreader device (VAS 6274/8) in correct position between body frame and upper control arm and pre-load lightly. 

‹› The milled surface on the upper press piece must always point in the direction of travel. If not, the brake line will get damaged.

Loosen bolt - 1 - and pull wheel house liner to the side.
