Data Link Connector: Service and Repair

Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface

The Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533) is located behind the glove compartment.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

Turn off all electrical consumers.

Remove ignition key.

-

If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. 

Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

Remove glove compartment.

Disconnect all harness connectors - 2 - on Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533) -  1 -.

-

Fit the Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - on to the MOST-Bus connector -  2 -.

-

Remove screws - arrows - (3 Nm) and remove Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533) -  1 -.
