Transmission Cooler: Procedures
ATF lines and ATF cooler, cleaning 09L, 6 Speed AWD A/T
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Compressed air gun (commercially available)

Hose, approx. 18 mm dia.

Drip tray
Note:
^
Always clean ATF cooling lines and ATF cooler before installing a replacement transmission.
^
Read the rules when working on the automatic transmission.
^
Thoroughly clean all joints and surrounding areas before disassembling.
Procedure

Place drip tray underneath.

Remove bolt - 2 -.

Connect a hose (approx. 18 mm diameter) to ATF line - A - and secure with a hose clip. Place the other end of the hose into drip tray.
CAUTION!
Wear safety goggles.

Blow through ATF line - B - using a compressed air line (max. 10 bar).

Change hose from ATF line - A - over to ATF line - B - and repeat sequence.

In addition, flush lines with ATF until they are clean if ATF is very dirty.

The ATF used for flushing the lines must not be used again.

Always replace O-rings - 1 -.
-
First push ATF cooling lines fully into transmission or cooler as far as stop, then bolt on.
-
Check ATF level.
