Affected Vehicles
Condition
^ Rattling or chain noises from the gearbox. Noises are most pronounced in "S" mode or in Tip-4 in acceleration and overrun between 30 - 50 mph.
^ Affected vehicles: A6 with Multitronic gearbox 01J.
Technical Background
Incorrect installation of the bracket and the support.
The incorrect support transmits and amplifies the chain operating noises from the gearbox to the passenger compartment.
Production Solution
Improved bracket and support installed in production.
Service
Check the bracket and support and replace them if necessary.
