Shift Interlock Cable: Testing and Inspection

Ignition Interlock, Checking

Switch ignition on

^

Step on foot brake pedal and hold.

Shifting from "P" must be possible when depressing knob on shift lever without "hooking up."

It must not be possible to remove the ignition key in any transmission range except "P."

Shift to "P."
-

It must be possible to move ignition key without binding to the removal position

^

Remove ignition key.
-

Ignition key must be removable only in "P"

The selector lever must not be moveable from "P" with depressed shift lever knob and depressed brake pedal.
