Disconnect connector -E-.

^

Unlock holding tab -Z- of guard plate from bracket.

^

Rotate shift lock solenoid in direction of arrow.

^

After replacing shift lock solenoid, check operation of controls.

Remove guide from slide.

^

Remove bolt -1- and remove notched plate together with detent.

^

Move selector lever to "P" position.

^

Unlock holding tabs -2- of notched plate for cable lever and remove notched plate.

Disconnecting cable

Lift tabs -A- slightly and turn sleeve -B- approximately 45 and release lock.

^

Pull sleeve -B- from front selector lever cable (in direction of arrow).

^

Remove ball head from ball socket.

Connecting cable

Check gasket -C- for damage and proper seating; replace if necessary.

^

Install ball head in ball socket.

^

Push sleeve -B- on (in direction of arrow) and turn approximately 45V.

^

Check lock on sleeve -B-.
