Drive/Propeller Shaft: Service and Repair
Servicing

WARNING:

Do not re-use fasteners that are worn or deformed in normal use.

^

Some fasteners are designed to be used only once, and are unreliable and may fail if used a second time. This includes, but is not limited
to, nuts, bolts, washers, circlips and coffer pins. Always follow recommendations replace these fasteners new parts where indicated, and
any other time it is deemed necessary by inspection. 

CAUTION!

This is a carbon fiber drive shaft.

Do not bump, hit or drop the shaft.

If there is damage to the surface, replace the drive shaft.The drive shaft cannot be bent more than 25°. Otherwise, the universal joint could be
damaged.
Drive shaft should be stored and transported in stretched position.

Notes:

No repair work, except for removal, installation or adjustment can be carried out on the drive shaft.

If the drive shaft is separated only from the transmission or the rear final drive, the drive shaft must be tied up by the CV joints or otherwise
supported.

^

Any work on the drive shaft should be carried out on the lift.

^

If there are complaints regarding noise or vibration, it is absolutely necessary to see if a precise adjustment will eliminate the complaint before the
drive shaft is replaced.
