(ASR = Antriebs-Schlupf-Regelung)
-
Check coding for Engine Control Module (ECM). Refer to "Programming Control Module (ECM) (Function 07)" under "Powertrain
Management" See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection
If coding is OK:
-
Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory for ABS control module.
If no DTCs are recognized:
-
Connect VAG1598/19 test box to ECM harness connector. Refer to "Scan Tool Testing/Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks/VAG1598/19
Test Box, Connecting" under "Powertrain Management" See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection
-
Check wiring for open or short circuit between ECM/test box socket C24 and ABS control module.
If wiring and ABS control module are OK:
-
Replace ECM.
-
Generate readiness code. Refer "Monitors, Trips and/or Drive Cycle (Readiness Code)/Generating, Readiness Code" under "Powertrain
Management" See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection
