Passenger Assist Handle: Service and Repair

Roof Grab Handle, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

-

Torque wrench V.A.G 1783

Removing
-

Remove cover panels - 3 - (2x) from underneath.

-

Remove bolts - 2 - (2x).

-

Tightening torque 4 Nm

-

Remove roof grab handle - 1 -.

Installing

NOTE:
-

Always remove remnants of locking fluid from tapped holes for roof grab handle after removing roof grab handle. Otherwise there would be a
danger of new bolts seizing when screwed in and shearing off on renewed disassembly.

-

Cleaning can be performed using a thread cutter.

-

Replace roof grab handle bolts (self-locking).
