Remove retaining clips in direction indicated -arrow-.

Remove hydraulic control unit.
Installing
Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

Only remove sealing plugs on new hydraulic unit when the corresponding brake line is going to be installed.

If the sealing plugs are removed too soon from the hydraulic unit, brake fluid may escape; it may no longer be possible to fill and bleed the unit
properly.

When assembling control module and hydraulic unit, make sure valve domes of hydraulic unit do not catch on control modules solenoids.

Connect lines as previously marked:
1 - Primary piston circuit
2 - To left front brake caliper
3 - To right front brake caliper
4 - Secondary piston circuit
5 - To left rear brake caliper
6 - To right rear brake caliper

Install connector on hydraulic pump.

Clip ABS unit onto bracket.
Note: Do not fully tighten bolts. This facilitates attachment of individual brake lines to hydraulic unit.

After tightening brake lines, tighten hydraulic unit.

Remove brake pedal depressor V.A.G 1869/2.

Bleed brake system.

Code ABS control module (w/EDL -J104).
Go to Code control unit using VAS 5051 via "Guided fault finding" function.

When replacing the control module, select function "Replacing" for the relevant control module in the "Guided fault finding".
To do this, use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.

After connecting brake lines to hydraulic unit, perform final control diagnosis.
