21. Wait until the warning lamp in EPB switch goes out. You may have to wait for up to 3 minutes.

22. Press the "Next" button (>).

23. Insert the key into the ignition and switch on the ignition. The program will continue automatically.

24. If VAS 5051B or VAS 5052 is not able to establish communication with any of the onboard control units, check all connections. Press the "Next"

button (>).

25. If the existing software in the EPB control unit is OK, you will see the screen in Figure 7. Press the "Next" button (>).

26. If the screen in Figure 8 is displayed, the EPB control unit has registered one or more faults. Press the "Next" button (>).
27. Repair the faults as described in the Workshop Manual, and then perform the software update again.

NOTE:  

Do not replace the EPB control unit if the fault 16347 Control unit defective is stored in the memory of the EPB control unit. This fault will be
rectified by the software update.

28. Switch off the ignition. The program will continue automatically.
