Electronic Brake Control Module: Procedures
Electronic Parking Brake Control Module -J540-, Removing And Installing
CAUTION: Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:

Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.

Switch the ignition off.
^
Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
^
On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar, switch-off the emergency (backup) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module
prior to disconnecting vehicle battery.
^
After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to
Repair Manual and/or Owner's Manual.

After reconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar43, switch-on the emergency (backup) battery for the
Telematic/Telephone Control Module
Removing
-
If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding" routine.

VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic Testing and Information System must be used for this purpose.

Remove battery
-
Pull locking slide in direction of arrow and unplug connector-1-.
-
Item -2- EPB control module
-
Remove nuts -arrows-.
Tightening torque 10 Nm
-
Remove Electronic Parking Brake Control Module -J540-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence, when doing this note the following:

Select function "Replacing" in the "Guided fault finding" when replacing control module.
To do this, use vehicle diagnostic, and information system VAS 5051.
