Check wire connection from terminal 1 to Fuel Pump (FP) relay via fuse for continuity.

If voltage test lamp lights up, check activation.

Checking activation of valves for camshaft adjustment

Disconnect connector at respective solenoid valve.

Connect V.A.G 1527 voltage tester using cables from V.A.G 1594 connector test kit to sockets 1 (B+) and 2 of connector for respective solenoid
valve.

Operate starter for a few seconds. Engine may also start up during this.

Diode test lamp must blink during activation of camshaft adjustment.

If LED lights up continuously.

Check wire connection of socket 2 of respective connector of solenoid valve for camshaft adjustment for short circuit to Ground (GND).

If voltage test lamp does not blink.

-

Check wire connection.

Connect V.A.G1598/31 test box at wiring harness to Engine Control Module (ECM), do not connect ECM.
