Fuel Filler Cap Warning Indicator: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314- 

Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314- consists of a reed contact on fuel filler tube and a connector flange cap with an embedded magnet. With a connector
flange cap that is not fully bolted on, the reed contact switches and triggers an indication on the display in instrument cluster.

Check the following items in order with a lighted display:

Proper connector flange cap (recognized by: with magnet -arrow-)

^

Connector flange cap is fully bolted on

^

Switch -1- is fully inserted at fuel filler tube

^

Electrical fault in switch.

Malfunctioning wiring connection to instrument cluster (check according to wiring diagram)

Electrical test for Fuel Tank Lock Switch -F314-

Remove rear right wheel housing liner:

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector-2-.
