If a telephone is installed, say "telephone".

The speech dialog system switches to the telephone mode.

Press and hold the PPT button for approximately one second.

The speech dialog system responds with "Cancel" and is deactivated.

Speech Input Control Module, from 1 September 2008

‹› The voice control system is part of the information electronics control module 1 (J794) inside the glove compartment. It cannot be replaced alone.

‹› If it is faulty, then the information electronics control module 1 must be replaced.

Switch off all electrical consumers.

-

Remove the key.

‹› If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. Use the Vehicle

Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.

Removing

-

Remove the information electronics control module 1. Refer to => [ Information Electronics Control Module 1, from 1 September 2008 ] See:

Installing

Install the information electronics control module 1. Refer to => [ Information Electronics Control Module 1, from 1 September 2008 ] See:
Accessories and Optional Equipment/Entertainment Systems/Service and Repair/Communication System.

Perform the following function test:

Switch on the radio (R).

-

Briefly depress PTT button on multi-function steering wheel.

A "Ping" tone sounds, the speech input system is active.

Say the command "Help" 

Since the radio is active, the speech dialog system responds with "Commands for the radio are...".

Depending on the equipment, other functions can be selected:
