Condition

Should an electrical malfunction occur when the transmission is not in "p" (Park), the driver can remove the ignition key by following the instructions
provided in the vehicle owner's manual. However, the vehicle owner's manual does not state that the transmission should be shifted into Park position
before attempting ignition key emergency release.

In the event a customer contacts your dealership requesting assistance with ignition key emergency release, the following procedure describes proper
steps for key removal.

Service

Move transmission selector lever to "P" (Park).

-

Switch ignition OFF.

-

Remove cover -arrow-.

-

Turn ignition key to the left and hold.
