Rear Flange Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Thrust Plate (VW 401)

‹› Thrust Plate (VW 402)

‹› Thrust Pad (VW 447 i)

‹› Punch (VW 409)

‹› Pressure Application Device (T10136)

Removing 

-

Remove self-locking center differential cover. Refer to => [ Self-Locking Center Differential Cover ] .

-

Remove the circlip - arrow - on the inside of the cover.

  ‹› The circlip secures the flange shaft to the bearing in the cover.

-

Press flange shaft out of self-locking center differential cover using (VW 409).
