Electric Sun Shade, Removing And Installing

Housing For Electric Sun Shade, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench V.A.G 1783

Removing

-

Remove door trim.

-

Sun shade removal involves setting it to service mode. To do so, use switch in roof module to unwind sun shade in rear door.

-

Retract sun shade in rear door again by pressing switch in roof module for at least 5 seconds.

-

Disconnect connector - 4 - to sun shade control module.

-

Connect connector - 4 - to sun shade control module. This activates service mode.

-

Actuate switch in roof module. Sun shade extends by approx. 150 mm.

Remove window regulator motor.

-

Push down door window.

-

Use small flat screwdriver to unfasten clips - 2 - on upper side between roller - 4 - and clip - 2 -.

-

Remove shafts - 5 - from mounts - 3 -. In doing so, hold roller shade to stop it retracting.
