Steering Wheel: Procedures
Heated Steering Wheel, Servicing

CAUTION!
Before working on the electrical system:

-

Determine the correct coding for the anti-theft radio.

Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.

NOTE:  After reconnecting the battery be sure to reactivate the radio, clock, power windows and engine according to instructions in the Owner's
Manual.

WARNING!

-

Airbag system components must only be checked, removed, installed or repaired by qualified Service Department personnel.

-

Before starting to work on any part of the airbag system, disconnect the battery ground strap. Whenever reconnecting the battery, the
passenger compartment must not be occupied.

Always refer to airbag system safety precautions.

-

Remove airbag unit and steering wheel. See: Lighting and Horns/Service and Repair 

-

Check wiring according to wiring diagram.
See Electrical Wiring Diagram, Troubleshooting and Component Locations.

NOTE:  Replace heated steering wheel if it is faulty

Install steering wheel and airbag unit. See: Lighting and Horns/Service and Repair
