09LA Transmission

Torque Converter Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Extractor lever (VW 681)

‹› Thrust piece (T10137)

Procedure

-

Remove transmission => [ Transmission, Removing ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/09LA Transmission/Transmission,
Removing.

Attach transmission to assembly stand => [ Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures/09LA
Transmission/Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand.

Carefully remove the torque converter.

-

Remove torque converter seal with Extractor Lever (VW 681).

-

Apply ATF to circumference and sealing lips of oil seal.

‹› Installation position: The open side of the sealing ring faces the transmission.

-

Using thrust piece (T10137), drive in sealing ring for torque converter up to thrust piece stop.
