Vacuum Pump: Testing and Inspection

Brake System Vacuum Pump, Checking

  Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 505x)

Procedure

Connect the (VAS 505x) to the diagnostic connector with the ignition switched off.

Switch the tester on - arrow -.

The tester will now require up to 3 minutes to boot up.

Switch on ignition

Select operating mode: On the display, select "Vehicle On-Board Diagnostic".

Select vehicle system: Select "engine electronics" on the display.

At the upper right of the screen, the control module identification and coding are displayed.

Select diagnostic function: At this point, all diagnostic functions are available.

-

Select "006 - Basic setting".

-

Press buttons 0, 1 and 1.

-

Confirm the input with the Q button.

Displayed at the bottom of the screen:

Actuate the brake pedal multiple times with consistent force until the test activates.
