Upper Coolant Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Spark plug connector pliers (V.A.G 1922)

‹› Spring-type clip pliers (VAS 5024 A)

Removing

‹› All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

Drain coolant => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures.

Remove upper part of intake manifold => [ Intake Manifold Upper Section ] See: Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold
Upper Section/Cylinder Head, Valvetrain.

Remove intake manifold lower part => [ Intake Manifold Lower-Section ] See: Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold
Lower-Section.

Remove rubber seal - 1 - for plenum chamber covers.

-

Remove plenum chamber covers - 2 - and - 3 -.

-

Pry off caps on the wiper arms using a screwdriver.
