Camshafts

Removing

‹› Camshafts and crankshaft must not be rotated when timing drive is disassembled.

‹› The camshaft bar (T10068) serves exclusively to lock the camshaft at TDC. To counter-hold, a 32 mm open-end wrench must be set on the hex of

the camshaft.

‹› Engine removed.

‹› Engine separated from transmission.

Remove timing chains for camshafts => [ Timing Chains for Camshaft Drive ] See: Timing Components/Timing Chain/Service and Repair/Timing
Chains For Camshaft Drive.

To loosen bolts for camshaft adjuster counter-hold at hex - arrow - of camshaft with a 32 mm open-end wrench.

Remove camshaft adjuster.

-

Remove bolts - arrows - and remove control housing for camshaft adjustment.
