‹› Hand drill with plastic brush attachment
‹› Protective eyewear
CAUTION!
When upper right camshaft timing chain cover is removed, the engine must not be turned over. Only when the chain tensioner for right
camshaft timing chain and upper right timing chain cover are installed, the timing chain is secured against jumping off.
Removing
‹› Engine removed.
‹› Engine separated from transmission.
‹› During installation, re-install all heat insulation sleeves at the same locations.
‹› All cable ties opened or cut during engine removal must be reinstalled at the same locations during installation.

Remove drive plate => [ Drive Plate ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Flex Plate/Service and Repair/Drive Plate.

Remove upper part of intake manifold => [ Intake Manifold Upper Section ] See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold Upper
Section/Cylinder Head, Valvetrain.

Remove intake manifold lower part => [ Intake Manifold Lower-Section ] See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Intake Manifold
Lower-Section.

Remove cylinder head covers => [ Cylinder Head Cover ] See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair.

Remove heat insulation sleeve over Hall sensors for exhaust camshaft on both cylinder banks.

Separate electrical connections on Hall sensors for exhaust camshaft - arrow - and intake camshaft on both cylinder banks.

Separate electrical connection - 2 - at Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat (F265).
