Mass Air Flow Sensor 2

Removing

-

Disconnect electrical harness connector from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor 2 (G246).

-

Remove both bolts from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor 2 (G246).

-

Open hose clamp and carefully pull Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor 2 (G246) out of guide from air filter housing.

Installing

For problem-free operation of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor 2 (-G246-) it is very important to observe the following notes and procedures.

‹› If the air filter element is very dirty or soaked, dirt particles or moisture may have contaminated the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor 2 (-G246-) and

may be causing false mass air flow values. This leads to reduced performance, since a lower injection quantity is calculated.

‹› Always use a genuine air filter element.

‹› Use a lubricant (silicone-free) for installing the intake hose.

‹› Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.

Check MAF sensor and intake hose (intake air side) for salt residue, dirt, and leaves.

Check intake ducting up to air filter element for dirt. If any contaminants are discovered, clean air filter housing (upper and lower parts) of salt
residue, dirt and leaves (if necessary, clean by washing or vacuuming).

If air filter element was removed, blow out water in lower part of air filter housing with compressed air.

Perform further installation in reverse order of removal.
