For exhaust bank 3 of cylinders 7, 8 and 9

Color identification: black

For exhaust bank 4 of cylinders 10, 11 and 12

Cylinder bank 1 and 2

‹› Before disconnecting harness connectors, mark allocation to component. 

‹› Cylinder bank 1 with cylinders 1 through 6 is located at right in direction of travel.

‹› Cylinder bank 2 with cylinders 7 through 12 is located at left in direction of travel.

Checking resistances

-

Check resistance between terminals 1 + 2, 1 + 3 and 2 + 3 at the connections to the respective knock sensors. Specification: infinite ohms 

If specification is not obtained:

-

Replace respective knock sensor:

‹› Knock sensors 1 and 2 for cylinder bank 1 

‹› Knock sensors 3 and 4 for cylinder bank 2.
