Seat Belt Tensioner: Testing and Inspection

Belt-fastened Sensor For Rear Three-point Seat Belts With Belt Tensioner, Checking

Connect Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A and select vehicle system "15 - Airbag" from list. Ignition must be
switched on.

Read measured value block, display group 004.
Belt fully retracted: Display on Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A "no"
Latch plate engaged in buckle and belt additionally extended by dimension - L - : Display on Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System
VAS 5051 A "yes"

Extension dimension - L - is 350 mm for both left and right belt.

Extension dimension - L - is 350 mm for center belt.

Then pull out belt as far as it will go. When doing so, display on Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A must remain
"yes" .

Then retract belt as far as dimension - L - without releasing latch plate, display on Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051
A must remain "yes" .

Release latch plate and slowly retract belt. At latest on reaching residual length of 100 mm, display must switch from "yes" to "no".

Belt fully retracted: Display on Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A "no"
