CV Joint, Checking for Function

CV joint is properly assembled, if ball hub can be slid back and forth by hand over whole compensation length.

Press grease into joint body.

Drive axle with 100 mm diameter outer CV joint, grease quantities and types. Refer to => [ Grease Quantity and Type ] See: Service and

Secure the drive axle with protective covers in a vise.

-

Open the clamp with (3340).

Insert the (3340) at the back of the clamp as shown in the illustration.

Slide back the CV joint boot.

-

Strike a copper or brass drift - A - on the CV joint inner race with a hammer.

-

Remove the CV joint and boot.

Outer CV Joint, Installing

Slide the CV joint boot onto the axle shaft.
