Water Pump: Service and Repair

NOTES:

Always replace seals and gaskets.

Checking coolant Fan Control (FC) thermal switch, refer to  See: Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch/Radiator Cooling Fan Temperature
Sensor / Switch/Testing and Inspection

The thermostat can be replaced without removing the camshaft drive belt.

^

An oil cooler, mounted between the oil filter and the oil filter bracket, is part of coolant system. Additional information, refer to Engine.

Thermostat

Replacing, refer to Replacement. See: Thermostat

Opening temperature, refer to Replacement. See: Thermostat

Always replace

Thermostat housing

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)

Gasket

Always replace

Coolant pump
-

To remove, first remove ribbed belt and toothed camshaft drive belt, refer to Engine.

Bolt
-

Tighten to: 10 Nm 17 ft. lbs.)
