Gas Strut Replacement

Before replacing gas struts for hoods or trunk lids, observe the following:

A light oil film on the piston rod or a the seal is normal and needed for lubrication. DO NOT remove this oil film.

The lift force of the gas strut depends on the outside (ambient) air temperature. When temperatures are low, a higher force is normally needed to
operate the hood/trunk lid.

If one gas strut is faulty, it is not necessary to replace the struts in pairs. Always check struts individually and replace only the ones that are faulty.

Please inform customers if struts are not replaced after complaints. Functioning struts cannot be claimed under warranty.
