operation and correct connection of wheel speed sensor
Note
^
do not read pointer instrument -1- until the LED -2- shows a steady light without flickering
^
the dial of the instrument -1- consists of 8 units
^
the LED -2- goes out if wheel speed is excessive
^
the wheel speed sensors are selected individually with the wheel selector switch -4-
Pos. 5 = Left Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 47)
Pos. 6 = Right Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 45)
Pos. 7 = Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 46)
Pos. 8 = Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 44)

wheel selector switch -4- in position 6 and perform test of Right Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 45) - on front right wheel from test step 6.3
^
wheel selector switch -4- in position 7 and perform test of Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 46) on rear left wheel from test step 6.3
^
wheel selector switch -4- in position 8 and perform test of Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G 44) on rear right wheel from test step 6.3
^
switch off ignition
^
detach plug connector to ABS tester VAG 1710
^
connect ABS Control Module (J 104) and install
^
perform test drive
Note
^
the ABS Warning Light (K 47) must go out when engine is running (only on models without ABS OBD)
^
drive vehicle at a speed of at least 30 km/h for more than 20 seconds. The ABS Warning Light (K 47) must not light up during this time
