Timing Cover: Service and Repair
Lower Timing Chain Cover

Lower Timing Chain Cover

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand drill with plastic brush attachment

‹› Protective eye-wear

Removing

‹› Transmission removed.

‹› During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.

CAUTION!
Risk of destroying electrical components.

‹› Observe measures when disconnecting battery.

Disconnect battery.

-

Remove drive plate. Refer to => [ Drive Plate ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Flex Plate/Service and Repair/Drive Plate.

Remove left and right timing chain covers. Refer to => [ Left and Right Timing Chain Covers ] See: Left and Right Timing Chain Covers.

-

Remove oil filter housing. Refer to => [ Oil Filter Housing ] See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Cooler/Service and Repair/Oil Filter Housing.

Remove generator.

-

Remove left and right bolts - arrows - and electrical connector bracket.

‹› Ignore items - 1 to 4 -.

-

Disconnect starter electrical connector - 3 - by sliding the retainer back and pressing the release down.
